Yacht charter Lefkas 

Lefkada, also known as Lefkas, is a Greek island in the Ionian Sea off the west coast of Greece. Lefkas is connected to the mainland by a long dam and a floating bridge.

 Lefkada Town is the capital of Lefkada and is located northeast of the island. Numerous restaurants, cafes and shops can be found in the city, which also has a rich history. Nydri to the east, Vasiliki to the southwest and Agios Nikitas to the northwest are other towns on the island. 

 Lefkada is very popular among sailors looking to explore the island's stunning coastline and neighboring islands. Our tips for sailing around Lefkas::     

  • Respect the Environment: when sailing around Lefkas please make sure to respect the environment. Avoid anchoring in sheltered areas and take extra care not to damage the Ionian Sea's ecosystem. 
  • Route plan: Lefkas has many beautiful bays and beaches that can only be reached by boat. Before starting your trip, plan your route and decide which places you want to visit. 
  • Boot rental: If you don't have your own boat, you can rent a well-maintained sailing boat or a beautiful yacht from TimeToSail. Take good advice to make sure you choose a boat that suits your needs and level of experience. 
  • Check the weather: check the weather forecast regularly before you start, and make sure that the conditions for sailing are suitable. The Ionian Sea is great for sailing, but it can also be unpredictable. Therefore, it is important to be prepared. 
  • Visit the nearby Ionian islands of Corfu, Paxos to the north or Meganisi, Kefalonia, Ithaca, Zakynthos to the south. Stop at popular beaches to swim and relax: Lefkada is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Greece, such as Porto Katsiki and Kathisma

Arrival to Lefkada 

Airplane 

Flying is the most convenient and quickest way to travel to Lefkas. From May to October there are numerous charter flights from Great Britain that fly into Preveza Airport (PVK), also known as Aktio, on the Greek mainland. 3 hours and 20 minutes is the average flight time from London to Preveza. From the Preveza-airport you can reach Lefkas town in about 45 minutes by car. Lefkas is connected to the mainland by a swing bridge. 

 Car Ferry 

Numerous car ferries connect Venice, Ancona, Bari and Brindisi in Italy with Igoumenítsa in north-west Greece. From Igumenitsa port you drive along the coast via Sivota, Parga and Preveza to Lefkada in about 90 minutes. From Venice it takes at least 22 hours on the ferry to Igumenitsa. From Ancona to Igumenitsa takes about 16 hours. 

 If you decide to fly, you have the option of renting a car or motorbike on site.
